Since this version is designed for touch devices (usually without keyboard) there are more possible ways to place the tiles as in the Silverlight version :
- With the keyboard if you have one
- With the mouse / the finger (touch and drop)
- By using the rack as a virtual keyboard
Using the rack as a virtual keyboard
1) Touch/click the square where the word should start. An arrow appears in this square.
2) If you want to play vertically, touch / click again the same square. The arrow is then oriented downward. Subsequent touches / clicks will change again the orientation.
3) Touch / click sucessively each tile of the word to play in the rack.
Moving or cancelling the word
If you have a keyboard, you can use the same shortcuts as in the Silverlight version (Escape key to cancel the whole word, Backspace to cancel the last move...)
On a tablet, you can do the same thanks to the buttons under the rack :
These buttons perform the following actions :
Cancel all moves - all tiles are replaced in the rack.
Cancel the last move - the last tile s replaced in the rack.
Move the word to the left / upward.
Move the word to the right / downward.
Validate. This button shows also the time remaining.
You can use these buttons only when you are using the rack as a virtual keyboard (or when you use a physical keyboard), otherwise they are greyed out.
Number of squares in the rack
The rack contains only 7 squares if you have a small screen (less than 1024 logical pixels widthwise). Starting with 1024 pixels, it contains 8 squares, like in the Silverlight version.
